Dr. Young is a Clinical Neuropsychologist specializing in assessment for individuals with brain injury, either developmental or acquired. Whether the question is Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Defficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disorder, traumatic brain injury, or dementia, Dr. Young will complete a full evaluation to make a clear and definitive diagnosis. Following diagnosis, Dr. Young will provide resources for assistance and/or therapy for the client and their family. Additionally, Dr. Young provides individual, couples and family therapy to address many emotional difficulties.
Educationally, Dr. Young earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The University of North Florida in 1999. During that training, she completed a year-long internship with a local pediatric psychiatrist, where she worked for the following year. She then entered the Doctor of Psychology program at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL. Her training there included working with sexually abused children and their families, general therapy, and as a graduate assistant at the memory disorders clinic. Dr. Young's one year internship was at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Her major rotations there were neuropsychology, women's service, and sexual trauma services. Dr. Young then completed a 2-year post-doctoral residency at a private practice in Winter Park, FL.
